Ultrafiltration System (UF)

Technology Overview

Ultrafiltration System (UF)

Wastewater Treatment

Ultrafiltration (UF) is a membrane-based physical separation technology used for effective removal of suspended solids, turbidity, colloids, bacteria and high-molecular-weight organic compounds from water and treated wastewater.
UF membranes typically operate in the pore size range of 0.01 to 0.1 micron, making them highly suitable as a polishing stage or as pretreatment for advanced membrane systems.

UF systems are widely used in water and wastewater treatment applications to ensure low turbidity, controlled SDI and stable feed water quality for reuse and downstream processes such as Reverse Osmosis (RO). The system operates at relatively low pressure and incorporates periodic backwashing and chemical cleaning (CIP) to maintain long-term membrane performance.

Applications of UF Systems
Pretreatment before RO systems to protect membranes and improve recovery
Tertiary treatment in ETP and STP for improved effluent quality
Water recycling and reuse applications requiring low turbidity and SDI control
Process and utility water treatment systems

How S N Group of Environment Delivers UF Systems
At S N Group of Environment, UF systems are engineered with a strong focus on membrane protection, hydraulic balance and operational reliability rather than simple skid supply.
Our designs ensure stable performance, extended membrane life and consistent treated water quality under variable operating conditions.

Engineering Strengths of Our UF Design
Selection of appropriate UF membrane material and configuration based on feed water quality and fouling tendency
Design of effective pretreatment systems to protect UF membranes from solids and oil fouling
Uniform flow distribution and header design to avoid dead zones and localized fouling
Flux-based membrane sizing for stable long-term operation
Automated backwash and chemical cleaning (CIP) logic for consistent flux recovery
Seamless integration with upstream biological treatment systems and downstream RO units

Performance & Compliance Focus
Our UF systems are designed to deliver consistent low turbidity and SDI values, ensuring reliability for reuse and advanced treatment applications.
Each system supports CPCB / SPCB compliance when used as part of an integrated treatment scheme.
